Environmental Design Solutions Ltd. (EDSL) TAS software is accredited to the National Calculation Method (NCM) and allows us to complete Part L carbon emissions calculations for any project.
The modelling simultaneously analyses a ‘notional’ building and the actual designed building to determine if the predicted emissions are acceptable. It uses standard NCM casual gains and activity data and not real data of the building ‘in use’. Where relevant, this also complies with the Government’s freeware ‘Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM).
TAS is an industry-leading building modelling and simulation tool. Capable of performing dynamic thermal simulation for the world’s largest and most complex buildings, TAS allows designers to accurately predict energy consumption, CO2 emissions, operating costs and occupant comfort.
TAS was the first Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) to be approved for Part L2 and EPC; and can be used to assess building levels 3, 4 and 5. It is also recognised as a Building Energy and Environmental Modelling (BEEM) software suitable for calculating building performance and predicting energy usage.
