This year, McCann and Partners have pledged to raise over £10,000 for The Wallich, which is a team of over 300 dedicated people who strive to make life better for those who are experiencing homelessness.
The Wallich has been providing accommodation and support services for homeless people since 1978, starting with a 20-bed hostel in Cardiff; expanding to a multi-project agency working in most Local Authorities in Wales.
The Wallich specialise in providing services for people with multiple, complex needs; and people who, because of their high support needs, are often excluded from other services and have difficulty in accessing accommodation.
In a bid to raise as much money as we can for this wonderful charity, both our Cardiff and Swansea offices have come together to organise events throughout the year; a charity golf day at Radyr Golf Club in June and a pub quiz towards the end of the year to mention a few.
A number of individual team members are also doing their bit; Patrick Morgan raised £215 by running the Cardiff Bay 10k in March; Hannah Turnbull and Jessica Wright ran the Newport 10k in April raising a fantastic £995; Michael Davey, Justin Thomas and Martin Cole have raised £200 by undergoing a charity weight loss programme – together they lost 4st 4lb (27.4kg) between them since the start of the year (the equivalent of a baby polar bear!).
In addition to this, staff are also making charitable donations instead of buying birthday cakes, and partake in our weekly bonus ball syndicate and ‘dress-down Friday’ at the end of every month.
