Taking place in Cardiff, the quiz raised money for three separate charities
The annual McCann and Partners charity quiz returned for 2024, this year taking place at Steinbeck & Shaw in Cardiff.
Snatching the win from the Cambria quiz team - who this year were looking to achieve their third annual victory - the McCann and Partner’s Cardiff team emerged as the quiz winners.
As well as bringing together industry friends, the event raised money for three charities - Brecon Mountain Rescue, Surfability UK, and 16-25 Independent People. As McCann and Partners’ chosen charities for 2024, these three organisations will benefit from the funds raised from several events throughout the year, including last week’s quiz.
About the charities
Brecon Mountain Rescue operate 24/7, 365 days a year, providing emergency search and rescue services across a wide area which includes the Brecon Beacons National Park in the South, to Welshpool in the North East and Machynlleth in the North West. They are entirely funded by donations, and staffed by volunteers.
Surfability UK provides surfing lessons and experiences for people with additional needs due to disability, illness, injury or learning difficulties. They run surfing lessons at the beautiful Caswell Bay on the Gower all year round, as well as indoor skateboarding lessons for surfers who find the winter sea too cold.
16-25 Independent People, based in Bristol, works with young people who are homeless, leaving care or at risk of homelessness in Bristol and the South West. They seek to prevent homelessness, keep young people safe and support them to build on their strengths to be the best they can be.
Director Chris Morgan said: “We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended this year’s charity quiz, and to the staff at Steinbeck and Shaw. It was wonderful to see so many friendly faces from across the industry, and it was a great evening. The funds raised will support our three chosen charities for 2024 - each a very worthy cause.”
