Huge congratulations to McCann engineer Nick Richards on receiving the South Wales CIBSE Building Services Engineering Graduate of the Year 2024 award.
Nick has been undergoing his BEng(Hons) degree in Building Services Engineering with the University of West England for the past three years, and after graduating this summer was nominated by his tutors for the prestigious award.
Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer at the University of West England, Simon Ho, said of Nick’s achievement:
“We nominated Nick for the South Wales CIBSE Building Services Engineering Graduate of the Year 2024 award as he has been a model student from day one of his three years, undertaking the degree with us at UWE. Nick has been supportive to his peers throughout his academic life, and he brings his professional etiquette into the study place.
“Nick produced the best piece of work in this year’s Design Project module – no easy feat. Overall, Nick graduated with an upper second classification BEng(Hons) degree and we are very proud of his academic achievements. I am sure he has a successful and flourishing career ahead of him.”
The CIBSE Engineering Awards celebrate the exceptional talent and dedication of engineers across the industry, and highlight the innovative thinking, hard work, and skills of graduates, apprentices, and undergraduates. The awards also recognise employers committed to fostering and developing the next generation of engineering talent, which is something we are very passionate about at McCann and Partners and have seen first-hand the positive impact it can have on our team and on the industry as a whole.
Director Rhys Silcox said on Nick’s award win: “We are all incredibly proud of Nick on winning Graduate of the Year 2024. He’s a valuable member of the McCann and Partners team and it comes as no surprise that he has impressed his tutors with his work ethic and dedication, as it’s something he always brings to his role as Electrical Design Engineer. It’s a well-deserved win and everyone on the team is delighted for him – congratulations Nick!”
