The proceeds of the 2024 charity golf day, hosted by McCann and Partners, will benefit three well-deserving local charities
The annual McCann and Partners charity golf tournament returned with glorious weather, raising £2,500 for our charity partners.
This year, the proceeds are going to support three deserving charities: Brecon Mountain Rescue, Surfability UK and 16-25 Independent People.
The tournament was held at Cottrell Park Golf Resort in St Nicholas and luckily, despite the disappointing summer weather so far this year, the sun was shining throughout.
The team from Whitehead Building Services was crowned this year’s winner - with an impressive score of 59.3.
The event was brought to a close with a dinner and presentation from Brecon Mountain Rescue about the important work they do. The charity operates 24/7, 365 days a year, offering emergency search and rescue services across a wide area, including the Brecon Beacons National Park in the South, to Welshpool in the North East and Machynlleth in the North West. They are entirely funded by donations, and staffed by volunteers.
In total, over £2,500 was raised to support Brecon Mountain Rescue, Surfability UK and 16-25 Independent People. Surfability UK provides surfing lessons and experiences for people with additional needs due to disability, illness, injury or learning difficulties and 16-25 Independent People, based in Bristol, works with young people who are homeless, leaving care or at risk of homelessness in Bristol and the South West.
Associate Rhys Silcox said: “Thank you to everyone who attended and took part in supporting these worthy causes, as well as those who donated prizes for the raffle. Thanks also to Cottrell Park Golf Resort for their hospitality.”
